Display Agent By SW is a command-line package that, when
installed, runs a series of automated scripts which
reinforces a 15-minute interval for the screensaver to
launch.
So why create this utility?
In OS X Server, you can often manage which preferences an
employee can access, and even some settings within certain
preferences.
Alas, the ScreenSaver is not one of them. In fact, its what
is known as a "ByHost" preference...which can be
continually overwritten on login/logout...making it
difficult to manage at all.
And, since its a package (and not a standalone
program)....it can be used in conjunction with technologies
such as:
Apple Remote Desktop
Timbuktu
Telnet/SSH
Netboot
Netinstall
So you can install this utility on several thousand
machines simultaneously....even remotely!
This could save lots of time if you wanted to install this
program without going to yet-another mac and running
yet-another copy of yet another utility.
